Welcome FB Friends

One month from today, on June 1, 2026, I will be permanently deleting my Facebook account. My reasons include: the recent proliferation of AI-generated content, the inherent nature of the platform that increases engagement by prioritizing polarizing content, Zuckerberg's decision to forego content moderation, my own mindless doom scrolling. I could go on.

Leaving is not an easy decision. FB for many years has been a way for me to stay in touch with friends near and far, old and new, to keep abreast of events, and meet musicians. It has been my go-to for posting my political positions, and venting about today's tumultuous times. Yes it has been an "echo chamber," but it has allowed me to vent my frustrations and displeasure with the world we live in.

As the saying goes, "As one door closes, another opens." This blog on the Ghost platform (ghost.org) is my new door, my means of staying in touch with friends, and of expressing myself apart from Facebook distractions. ( I will miss the occasional cat video.)

I invite you to subscribe to my blog as a means of maintaining our connection. It's free, and it won't flood your inbox with drivel. I do encourage you to post as the spirit moves you. Posts will be moderated, and won't show up immediately. The reasons for this are obvious. I will do my best to update the site daily so your contributions get posted.
